After our first son was born, I realized my wife needed something (everything) just for her—something to help her laugh and unwind. That’s when we found the best podcasts for moms funny listens for those who love a good laugh.

I mean, I write for a podcast website. That’s my go-to idea when I need one. And our brains were fried, so I went the lazy route and went the podcast angle. It’s the only connection I have to pop culture, anyway.

Between diaper changes, sleepless nights, and figuring out parenting, these podcasts became her lifeline. I remember those nights she’d have her earbuds in, quietly laughing while rocking our baby to sleep.

A good sigh after a muffled laugh was exactly what she needed.

These podcasts are funny, relatable, and way better than trying to keep up with TikTok.

The Best Funny Podcasts for Moms Vary Quite a Bit

Parenting podcasts tend to reflect life. Yeah, it’s a funny trip, but it can certainly be gallows humor.

Not all of these best podcasts for moms funny or not, reflect a “ha ha” flavor of funny on their parenting journey. Sometimes, a funny mommy podcast is tinged with some heavy stuff.

No, really. Studies have shown that laughter, no matter the subject matter, can be an effective coping mechanism.

Like a doofus husband, for instance.

Shall we?

The Holderness Family Podcast

You know those goofy songs and skits we love watching together on Facebook? Yeah, that’s the Holderness family. Well, guess what?

They also have a podcast!

It may be the only good thing coming out of North Carolina lately…

On “The Holderness Family Podcast,” they get real about marriage, parenting, and surviving daily life while keeping the jokes rolling. Kim’s reactions to her husband are priceless. But on this podcast, they’re naturally funny people discussing topics authentically, which is precisely what podcasts are good at.

That in between the ear realness.

Did you ever see them on The Greatest Race? Or whatever that CBS show was? Who watches CBS? Oh yeah… my mom.

They have relatable humor that makes you feel like you’re talking to another mom who gets it.

Or maybe a dad who’s pretending he does. ADHD is like that. Parenting with a mental health situation is my jam.

Either way, it’s funny and lighthearted enough to play while folding laundry or hiding in the bathroom for 10 minutes of peace.

As an aside, the skit the guys did about having a nanny van in the Husbands of Target was a stroke of genius. Not every mom is going to be on board with that part. But it was a funny premise. Come on.

The Funny Thing About Parenting

“The Funny Thing About Parenting” was hosted by TJ & Melissa. It’s been a while since they released a new episode, 2003 to be specific, but with a backlog of 96 shows wrapped up in a little bow, it still should find a spot in your queue.

Sometimes podcasts burn out. Especially when you’re a new parent.

This show captures those universal parenting moments that are both ridiculous and heartwarming. It’s great for a quick laugh, and you’ll often find yourself nodding along, thinking, “Yep, that’s my life.”

As Melissa says… get in the ring.

Where’s the wine?

One Bad Mother

Okay, hear me out on this one: “One Bad Mother” is like a comedy show mixed with group therapy.

Biz Ellis is the kind of host who knows how ridiculous parenting can be. She’s here to tell you that not only is it okay to lose your mind, but it’s actually pretty normal.

The podcast is a mix of humor, venting, and those little moments that make you go, “Oh thank goodness, it’s not just me.”

It’s got a good balance of comedy and comfort—plus, the weekly rant sessions are the best reminder that we’re all just trying to make it through. And don’t forget to show the show some love. 558 episodes is a lot of work. Find them on Twitter @onebadmothers.

What Fresh Hell: Laughing in the Face of Motherhood

Margaret Ables and Amy Wilson host this downright excellent pod, and it’s a hilarious look at parenting. Being a parent is serious stuff, but if you can’t see the humor in the dark, you can at least hear it.

That’s the real basis of a funny mom podcast.

They cover all those moments that make you want to laugh or cry (or both) and do it in a way that makes you feel seen.

Their mix of research-based parenting tips and comedy makes it both entertaining and informative.

They sponsored another parenting post a while back so they hold a special place in the hearts of DiscoverPods. Check out that post on podcasts for new parents here.

Care and Feeding

Slate’s “Care & Feeding,” formerly “Mom and Dad Are Fighting” might not be pure comedy, but I had to include it because the humor comes naturally out of how real it is. So the name change in 2004 does make sense.

It’s the same content, though. It’s not pure comedy, but it’s still amusing and helpful.

It’s like listening to a couple of parents in the trenches trying to figure out what’s going on, with plenty of laughs mixed in.

They share advice on everything from bedtime battles to dealing with tween attitudes. It’s that type of funny that sneaks up on you while you’re nodding your head, going, “Yep, I’ve been there.”

It’s perfect for those times when you need some solidarity — with a side of chuckles.

Two Funny Mamas

Hosted by Sherri Shepherd and Kym Whitley, “Two Funny Mamas” is exactly what it sounds like: two hilarious moms talking about life, parenting, and everything in between. It’s a straight up funny mom podcast.

Their chemistry and natural comedic timing make this podcast a must-listen for when you need a good laugh and a reminder that you’re not alone in the craziness of motherhood.

I’m going to be honest. This isn’t one that would normally come up in my feed, but after doing research for this article, I’m happy it did.

This is why we don’t want to get caught in the circle of AI teaching AI what you want to listen to. It’s all about discovery.

Why Mommy Drinks

Honestly, “Why Mommy Drinks” is what I imagine a funny mom podcast would sound like if the crew from Cougar Town on ABC made a podcast. Remember that show?

This is another show that seems to have wrapped up, but the premise is so universal that the content will stand up for a long time.

Hosted by Betsy Stover, this show dives deep into the parenting moments that drive us all a little bit crazy—the ones that make you want to pour yourself a glass of wine after the kids finally go to bed.

Betsy and her guests share stories that are as relatable as they are absurd. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s downright hilarious.

You’ll finish every episode feeling like you’ve just had the most cathartic laugh/cry session.

The Sober Mom Life

Speaking of white knuckling it, on the other side of the coming is leaning pretty hard into the darker side of humor.

Kind of. If anyone ever tells you that they need alcohol to find something funny… life isn’t always a two-drink minimum.

If you’re looking for something different, “The Sober Mom Life” offers a blend of humor and honesty about parenting without alcohol.

The host keeps things light while discussing serious topics, making it a relatable and often funny listen for moms who are rethinking their relationship with alcohol.

Toddler Purgatory

Last but not least, we’ve got “Toddler Purgatory”. This one is made for moms (and really anyone) who are in the thick of it with the littles.

Molly and Blair talk about everything from tantrums in Target to why toddlers think putting Cheerios up their nose is a good idea.

I guess it’s better than Skittles up the nose, but I get it.

I’ve lived it. Well, seen it.

They’ve got a comedic style that makes even the most ridiculous parenting struggles feel laughable.

It’s one of those shows where you’ll find yourself nodding along and maybe even doing that “laugh-so-you-don’t-cry” thing… and that’s okay. As mentioned earlier, it’s not just okay.

It’s encouraged.

It’s required.

Bonus: Podcasts to Listen To While Hiding From the Kids

Sometimes, it’s not just about laughter—it’s about those precious moments when you’re off-duty. You don’t always want a funny mom podcast to give away your hiding space.

If you need something a little different, check out “Call Your Girlfriend” for some feel-good BFF vibes or “The Moth” for great storytelling that’ll help you feel like a real person again, not just someone’s snack-fetcher.

Though, snacks are appropriate. If you’re not hiding snacks in the bathroom, then I just don’t know what you’re doing with your hiding space.

FAQs for Finding and Listening to Podcasts

Where can I find these podcasts?

You can find these podcasts on popular platforms like Apple Podcasts, or Spotify. Simply search for the podcast name, and you’ll be able to listen right away.

Honestly, there are some other ways to find your podcast of choice, but those two services are plainly the easiest as the podcast market has consolidated into what looks very much like a duopoly.

What are some easy apps for moms to use to listen to podcasts?

Here are some of the easiest apps for moms to use on their iPhone or Android:

Apple Podcasts: Pre-installed on iPhones, easy to use, and has a massive library of podcasts.

Spotify is great for both music and podcasts. Just search for your favorite shows. It’s bigger than Apple Podcasts (thanks, Mr. Joe Rogan) and platform-independent. You can find it on both the App Store for Apple and the Play Store for Google.

You probably will want to think about getting a monthly subscription to avoid ads. There are a couple of options for that if you happen to be in the same household.

Pocket Casts: Offers some extra features like creating playlists and is available on both iOS and Android.

Podcast Player – Not exactly an original name, but it has a very simple interface with a 4.7 star rating on the Play Store.

Podcast Addict – If you’re looking for a bit more, then Podcast Addict can handle some paywall podcasts that a program like Pocket Casts won’t. Slightly more complicated, but still has a 4.6 rating.

How can I stream podcasts on my smart TV?

To stream podcasts on your smart TV, you can:

Use the YouTube app: Some podcasts have video versions available on YouTube.

Cast from your phone: If you’re using an app like Spotify or Google Podcasts, you can cast directly to your TV using Chromecast or AirPlay.

Install a podcast app: Some smart TVs allow you to install apps like Spotify directly, which makes podcasts easy to play.

Can I listen to podcasts without Wi-Fi?

Yes! Most podcast apps allow you to download episodes for offline listening. Just download the episodes while you’re on Wi-Fi, and you can listen anytime, even when you’re out of range or trying to save data.

Moms… I understand. As husbands and partners, we pull a lot of crap that you don’t want to have to deal with. You’ve already got kids… you don’t need us to do the things we do.

And Mom… I get it. You all need a good laugh to let off some steam and have a little commiseration. Life’s a journey, and you have to laugh. You deserve a funny mom podcast to make that Monday look a little less bleak.

So, there you go—the best funny podcasts for moms who could use a break from the chaos. Pop on your headphones next time you do dishes, hide in the pantry, or take that rare solo Target trip, and let yourself laugh. You’ve earned it.
