EarBuds Podcast Collective: *Gorgeous Indie Sci-Fi*

How EarBuds Podcast Collective works:

Each week, a theme is chosen by one of our curators. That curator finds 5 podcast episodes (from anywhere!) to go along with that theme. Listen to these podcasts by clicking on the links above, through the RadioPublic app, or you can find (most of) them on your favorite podcast app (iTunes, Stitcher, Overcast…)

PODCAST CURATOR’S NAME: Sarah Rhea Werner

WHY THIS THEME?: Sci-fi (a.k.a. science fiction) isn’t just all spaceships and robots — it also includes strong characters, new ideas, terrifying dystopias, shippable relationships, and more. There is a TON of mind-expanding and utterly gorgeous sci-fi being created by independent spirits, and I’d love them to find more listeners!

MONDAY: Tides – From Earth to Fons – 25 minutes

TUESDAY: We Fix Space Junk – Escape from Hargan IV – 13 minutes

WEDNESDAY: Here Be Dragons  Harper – 21 minutes

THURSDAY: Geekscape – Catching Up And Catching Gremlins With Cooper Barnes! –64 minutes

FRIDAY2298 – Non Entry/Registration – minutes

SHAMELESS PROMO: I’d love to talk about my own sci-fi audio drama, Girl In Space. It’s about… well, a girl in space. She’s been abandoned on a dying ship in the farthest reaches of known space, and no one quite knows who she is or how she got there. But a lot of dangerous entities really want to find out. You can listen here!

CROWD-SOURCING QUESTION: What do you look for in a fictional podcast? A compelling story? Snappy dialogue? High-quality production? Something else?

Arielle Nissenblatt

Arielle is the founder and lead curator at EarBuds Podcast Collective, a listening movement started in January 2017. EarBuds sends out a weekly email with a theme and 5 podcast episodes on that theme, each week curated by a different person from within the Collective! Anyone can sign up to curate a list, as we hope that we'll explore topics that we wouldn't have come across on our own. We are expanding the movement, and we now produce and execute storytelling shows in cities throughout the U.S. on the theme *listening.*
