EarBuds Podcast Collective: *Mothers on a Quest*

Last updated on January 12th, 2018

How EarBuds Podcast Collective works:

Each week, a theme is chosen by one of our curators. That curator finds 5 podcast episodes (from anywhere!) to go along with that theme. Listen to these podcasts by clicking on the links above, through the RadioPublic app, or you can find (most of) them on your favorite podcast app (iTunes, Stitcher, Overcast…)

PODCAST CURATOR’S NAME: Julie Neale, host of the Mother’s Quest podcast

WHY THIS THEME?: As a mother, living an EPIC life has become a guiding framework for me to become the author of my own story and inspire my children by my example.  It’s also an acronym mnemonic for the guideposts that help us live that life when we’re raising our children. Listen to these episodes from other mothers on a quest, one for each guidepost, to kick off an EPIC life for you in 2018!

MONDAY EPISODE (1/1): TiLT Parenting – Asher Talks About Developing a Growth Mindset26 minutes

“E” – “Engage” Mindfully with Our Children by following the example of TiLT Parenting Podcast host Debbie Reber, who discusses the power of a “Growth Mindset” in this conversation with her then 12 year-old-son, Asher.

TUESDAY EPISODE (1/2):  Being Boss – You Don’t Need More Confidence – 61 minutes

“P” – “Passionate” and “Purposeful” Work – Get fresh insight on pursuing your passion and purpose, and tools for tackling fear with Playing Big author Tara Mohr.

WEDNESDAY EPISODE (1/3): Moms with Dreams – Set Yourself Up for Success in 2018: Look at the Big Picture (part 1)20 minutes

“I” – “Invest” in Yourself and your dreams for 2018 by following this reflection and visioning series with Ericka Blocker of the Moms with Dreams Podcast.

THURSDAY EPISODE (1/4): Super Mamas – People’s Yoga Founders Leah and Lauren49 minutes

“C” – “Connect” to a Strong Support Network through the inspiration of the People’s Yoga co-founders who bring the power of yoga into their motherhood journey and to building community in their East L.A. neighborhoods.

FRIDAY EPISODE (1/5): Mother’s Quest – E.P.I.C. Guidepost from Season One of the Mother’s Quest Podcast – 42 minutes

SHAMELESS PROMO: On my quest to live an EPIC life, I’m learning how to step into more responsibility toward anti-racism and model this for my children. I recorded three powerful conversations on this topic for the Women Podcasters in Solidarity Initiative. You can access my conversations with human rights attorney Nicole Lee, Rad Women author Kate Schatz, and Mothers Against Police Brutality Co-Founder Sara Mokuria here.

CROWDSOURCING QUESTION: I’d love to curate more lists like these for mothers and include conversations that have inspired you. Send me your favorite podcast episodes and the EPIC Guidepost it relates to at julie@mothersquest.com.

HASHTAG FOR DISCUSSION: #EarBudsMom

Arielle Nissenblatt

Arielle is the founder and lead curator at EarBuds Podcast Collective, a listening movement started in January 2017. EarBuds sends out a weekly email with a theme and 5 podcast episodes on that theme, each week curated by a different person from within the Collective! Anyone can sign up to curate a list, as we hope that we'll explore topics that we wouldn't have come across on our own. We are expanding the movement, and we now produce and execute storytelling shows in cities throughout the U.S. on the theme *listening.*
