EarBuds Podcast Collective: *Podcasts for Belly Laughs*

How EarBuds Podcast Collective works: Each week, a theme is chosen by one of our curators. That curator finds 5 podcast episodes (from anywhere!) to go along with that theme. Listen to these podcasts by clicking on the links above, through the RadioPublic app, or you can find (most of) them on your favorite podcast app (iTunes, Stitcher, Overcast…)

PODCAST CURATOR’S NAME: Chris Newth

WHY THIS THEME?: If you think about it, pure laughter is the result of your insides lighting up. We can all use more uncontrollable chuckle-fests in life, so hopefully, this list will help you find something that’ll make you say “hahaha” a lot.

MONDAY: Highbrow Reviews – ASMR Videos on YouTube – 31 minutes

3 friends get high—now legally!—and review the things you love

TUESDAY: Beyond Beyond Belief – Into the Spider Closet – 62 minutes

Comedy with a built-in fact/fiction guessing game element

WEDNESDAY: 2 Dope Queens Tig Notaro Gives the Best Advice – 33 minutes

Usually more of a stand-up type of show

THURSDAY: Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend – Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally –46 minutes

Usually more of a stand-up type of show

FRIDAY: You Made it Weird – Sarah Silverman – 96 minutes

Great raw and funny conversational comedy/interview show

GET IN TOUCH: Twitter

CROWDSOURCING QUESTION: What do you look for most when you check out a new podcast?

SHAMELESS PROMO: Perhaps follow me on Twitter and read through my joke tweets while you pick up litter in the backyard of a nursing home? It’d be like killing two birds with one stone…and then making sure you deposited those dead birds into the proper receptacles afterward.

HASHTAG FOR DISCUSSION:#BellyLaughs

Arielle Nissenblatt

Arielle is the founder and lead curator at EarBuds Podcast Collective, a listening movement started in January 2017. EarBuds sends out a weekly email with a theme and 5 podcast episodes on that theme, each week curated by a different person from within the Collective! Anyone can sign up to curate a list, as we hope that we'll explore topics that we wouldn't have come across on our own. We are expanding the movement, and we now produce and execute storytelling shows in cities throughout the U.S. on the theme *listening.*
