EarBuds Podcast Collective: *Rebuilding Life After Prison*

How EarBuds Podcast Collective works: Each week, a theme is chosen by one of our curators. That curator finds 5 podcast episodes (from anywhere!) to go along with that theme. Listen to these podcasts by clicking on the links above, through the RadioPublic app, or you can find (most of) them on your favorite podcast app (iTunes, Stitcher, Overcast…)

PODCAST CURATOR’S NAME: Lucy Copp

WHY THIS THEME?: As a volunteer in the California prison system for the past five years, I’ve seen and heard many stories of what it’s like to return to society after decades of incarceration and basically start life again from scratch. It’s a humbling and fascinating journey to go from a life-sentence to a life in the free world.

MONDAY: State of the Re:Union – The Hospital Always Wins – 53 minutes

TUESDAY: On Being The Wisdom of Tenderness – 51 minutes

WEDNESDAY: Life on the Outside – Made of Clay – 17 minutes

THURSDAY: 70 Million– Are Some of the Formerly Incarcerated Owed Reparations? –29 minutes

FRIDAY: Ear Hustle – The Row – 42 minutes

SHAMELESS PROMO: I’m passionate about inclusion, storytelling, and having conversations around healing and forgiveness. My hope is to bring Life on the Outside to life in another format by hosting live events and eventually, opening up a community space/recording studio for people returning home to learn the ins and outs of podcast production

CROWDSOURCING QUESTION: I wrapped a Kickstarter campaign to raise $6,000 to help me continued this production. How do you recommend I keep that momentum going? Patreon? Ad Sales? Let me know what has worked for you!

Arielle Nissenblatt

Arielle is the founder and lead curator at EarBuds Podcast Collective, a listening movement started in January 2017. EarBuds sends out a weekly email with a theme and 5 podcast episodes on that theme, each week curated by a different person from within the Collective! Anyone can sign up to curate a list, as we hope that we'll explore topics that we wouldn't have come across on our own. We are expanding the movement, and we now produce and execute storytelling shows in cities throughout the U.S. on the theme *listening.*
