EarBuds Podcast Collective: *Women in STEM*

How EarBuds Podcast Collective works:

Each week, a theme is chosen by one of our curators. That curator finds 5 podcast episodes (from anywhere!) to go along with that theme. Listen to these podcasts by clicking on the links above, through the RadioPublic app, or you can find (most of) them on your favorite podcast app (iTunes, Stitcher, Overcast…)

PODCAST CURATOR’S NAME: Jon Menaster, host of the Read Learn Live Podcast

WHY THIS THEME?: To continue to raise awareness around women in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics professions.

MONDAY EPISODE (12/18): The Women’s Euro-Arabian North Pole Expedition 2018 – Team Dynamics35 minutes

TUESDAY EPISODE (12/19):  Read Learn Live – Jill Tarter and The Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence52 minutes

WEDNESDAY EPISODE (12/20): Superwomen in Science – Learning Science with Dr. Dana Miller-Cotto – 35 minutes

GET IN TOUCH: My email is jon@readlearnlivepodcast.com – definitely contact me if you know any authors that want to be interviewed!

SHAMELESS PROMO: If you live in New York City, Woodstock, or Los Angeles, and you haven’t seen The Secret City, you’re missing out. The Secret City is an Obie-award winning arts organization that presents sincere and fabulous community celebrations of everyday creative life. Part ceremony, part salon, part show, each gathering has a different theme and an ever-changing roster of artists and performers, including live bands, performance art, storytellers, and chefs.

CROWDSOURCING QUESTION: What makes you decide to spend time with a book instead of any other form of learning/entertainment, like TV or the movies or video games?

HASHTAG FOR DISCUSSION: #EarBudsSTEM

Arielle Nissenblatt

Arielle is the founder and lead curator at EarBuds Podcast Collective, a listening movement started in January 2017. EarBuds sends out a weekly email with a theme and 5 podcast episodes on that theme, each week curated by a different person from within the Collective! Anyone can sign up to curate a list, as we hope that we'll explore topics that we wouldn't have come across on our own. We are expanding the movement, and we now produce and execute storytelling shows in cities throughout the U.S. on the theme *listening.*
