Earbuds Podcast Collective: *Y’all, Listen Here*

How EarBuds Podcast Collective works:

Each week, a theme is chosen by one of our curators. That curator finds 5 podcast episodes (from anywhere!) to go along with that theme. Listen to these podcasts by clicking on the links above, through the RadioPublic app, or you can find (most of) them on your favorite podcast app (iTunes, Stitcher, Overcast…)

PODCAST CURATOR’S NAME: Allison, AKA host of Not Your Little Lady podcast

WHY THIS THEME?: I chose this theme because my hope is that through this selection of podcasts, listeners see a picture of the American South that examines all aspects of its history while also celebrating the region’s progress and unique voices.

MONDAY: GravyDispatches from Duplin County32 minutes

TUESDAY: SouthBoundHistorian Joshua Burford On The Unseen LGBTQ History Of The South54 minutes

WEDNESDAYSouthern Mysteries Loreta Velazquez33 minutes

THURSDAY: Not Your Little Lady – Life as a Southern Dem44 minutes

FRIDAY: Uncivil – The Deed 34 minutes

GET IN TOUCH: Email | Twitter | Instagram

SHAMELESS PROMO: Everyone should check out the Southern Poverty Law Center. They’re based in Montgomery, Ala. and are “dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.”

CROWDSOURCING QUESTION: My podcast’s goal is to challenge the stereotypes typically associated with the American South. What are some stereotypes you believe to be true and why?

HASHTAG FOR DISCUSSION: #EarBudsYall #YallMeansAll

Arielle Nissenblatt

Arielle is the founder and lead curator at EarBuds Podcast Collective, a listening movement started in January 2017. EarBuds sends out a weekly email with a theme and 5 podcast episodes on that theme, each week curated by a different person from within the Collective! Anyone can sign up to curate a list, as we hope that we'll explore topics that we wouldn't have come across on our own. We are expanding the movement, and we now produce and execute storytelling shows in cities throughout the U.S. on the theme *listening.*
