Pods Review Pods: Bird Road, Cinema From The Darkside, & Pups ‘n’ PopCulture

Pods Review Pods is a weekly segment where podcasters review fellow podcasts.

My name is David Rosen. I’m a music composer and have recently started my own podcast Piecing It Together where me and a guest co-host discuss a movie, but instead of a straight review, we try to figure out what other movies may have inspired it. It leads to a unique conversation that not only covers the new release, but ends up bringing up other movies that listeners may end up wanting to check out as well.

Piecing It Together is available on Apple Podcasts and most popular podcast apps. You can check it out here.

Bird Road

Right up front you should know I’m also a co-host on this show. This is another podcast where my best friend Q and I discuss politics, news and all kinds of other topics. Usually it involves me laughing a lot at him joking around about how bad things have gotten in the world. It’s always a fun, unpredictable show. We start off with some kind of ridiculous audio skit, and then move on to various conversations and have had guests on ranging from college drinking buddies to actual political candidates, and even had a live show.

Cinema From The Darkside

Another movie podcast from a cool group of people. Also happens to be the first show I was ever a guest on so I definitely wanted to give them a shout-out. They have a uniquely unpretentious, mainstream point of view for a movie Podcast and a cast of hosts and guests that always leads the conversation in interesting directions. They’ll remind you of your friend who is always talking movies.

Pups ‘n’ PopCulture

Outside of movies and music my favorite thing is dogs. This fun, silly show talks about dogs, pop culture and dogs in pop culture, so it’s kind of everything I love. The conversations can range from their favorite dogs in movies to funny stories about their dogs, or even useful dog parenting information. I was recently a guest on the show and told stories about my dogs Harvey & Sadie. We had a great time laughing about all the silly things that dogs do. The host has a quirky sense of humor and you can tell just how much she loves the subject matter, which definitely makes it a worthwhile listen.
